Quick Start
About this documentation
This is the official developer documentation for the Liquid Network, maintained by Blockstream. It covers how Liquid is structured, how it works, and the tools you need to integrate with or build on the network.
Whether you are onboarding a new integration or looking up technical details for an existing project, this site is the authoritative reference for Liquid developers.
What is the Liquid Network?
The Liquid Network is a Bitcoin sidechain enabling fast, confidential settlement and the issuance of digital assets — including stablecoins, security tokens, and other financial instruments — anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain. Liquid is designed to serve as Bitcoin's financial layer and the foundation for the financial infrastructure of the future.

- Blockchain Data: Esplora and Waterfalls APIs
- Supported Assets: plain Liquid assets, AMP0, and AMP2
- Advanced: running your own Elements node and peg-in/peg-out flows
To build wallet applications, see the Liquid Wallet Kit (LWK) documentation for installation, wallet setup, transactions, and asset management.
You will also find information about common concepts on Liquid like Confidential Transactions and Asset Issuance, and popular tools on Liquid for trustless Swaps and the construction of complex financial products like Options Contracts.
